Key Responsibilities

The Habitat Wood Glen Homeowners Association (HOA) is committed to preserving property values, maintaining community standards, promoting neighborhood safety, and enhancing the quality of life for all residents.

To achieve these goals, the Association will:

Governance and Community Engagement

  • Host an Annual Membership Meeting.
  • Host Quarterly Membership Meetings to provide updates and receive homeowner feedback.
  • Conduct Board Meetings as needed, with a minimum frequency of every other month.
  • Foster open communication and dialogue with residents regarding community matters.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels, including the HOA website, email account, and post office box.

Financial Management and Compliance

  • Manage annual assessments and fees responsibly.
  • Maintain accurate financial records of the Association.
  • Produce and distribute annual financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal registration, reporting, and tax requirements.
  • Refer severely delinquent accounts to the Association’s collection attorney when necessary.

 

Community Standards and Property Maintenance

  • Maintain community entrance areas, easements, and rights-of-way.
  • Conduct monthly inspections to identify and track violations of HOA restrictions and standards.
  • Monitor abandoned lots and structures to help prevent deterioration and blight.
  • Enforce HOA governing documents, deed restrictions, and applicable community standards.

Safety and Neighborhood Preservation

  • Support enforcement of applicable City of Houston ordinances, including yard parking regulations.
  • Prohibit overnight parking of commercial vehicles and 18-wheelers within the community as permitted by governing documents and applicable laws.
  • Request periodic patrols from the Houston Police Department to enhance neighborhood security.
  • Report residential code violations to the appropriate authorities when warranted.

 

Community Improvement and Partnerships

  • Organize Annual Community Volunteer Clean-Up Events.
  • Promote anti-littering and anti-illegal dumping initiatives to improve neighborhood appearance and environmental quality.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with organizations such as Houston Habitat for Humanity, Super Neighborhood 49/50, and other community stakeholders.
  • Encourage volunteerism, civic engagement, and resident participation in community activities.
